Reflections

I stared into the mirror. Tired eyes were staring back at me. No amount of concealer could hide the dark circles under those eyes. Not even the expensive kind. It had been a long day, and I was ready to rest. I could feel the fatigue in my bones, and my face wasn't hiding it. A good night's rest would hopefully put some life back in my eyes. But I knew there was something deeper than what I could see in that reflection. Our physical bodies, or "earth suits" according to the late Dr. Myles Munroe, house our spirits. You

Songs of my Faith

By |March 28th, 2023|Categories: Misc.|Comments Off on Songs of my Faith

When I was in college in the mid to late 90s my faith really became my own.  Before that, it was the faith of my parents and my upbringing in church that I would say was the main reason I was a Christian.  But during those years when I was away from home and on my own, I leaned into God’s word, prayer, and the community of other believers so that I could know if I truly believed what I was taught.  That was when my faith really started to grow roots.   During that time period there were worship songs

Let Them In

By |March 10th, 2023|Categories: Misc.|Comments Off on Let Them In

We live in an increasingly individualistic society.  Being “self-made” is applauded and celebrated.  Transparency, vulnerability, and honesty have been replaced by perfectly curated and filtered lives that we post on social media - that portrays a life that is often not what it seems.  One where we have what we need and we are good on our own.  “I got this” is a phrase I’ve often thought and even said out loud. But going all the way back to the Garden of Eden, God said “It is not good for man to be alone.”   Adam with all of the animals,

The Family of Jesus

We all know that Jesus is the Son of God. But what might surprise you are the people who God chose to be in His earthly family and what we can learn from them. Listen to our very own, Anitha Thomas Abraham (Anu) as she gave the concluding message this past weekend at a marriage event hosted by Sharon Fellowship Church (Oklahoma)🔥🔥🔥 https://youtu.be/hNCmSSwp19k

Mean It

By |February 28th, 2023|Categories: Articles, Devotionals, Facebook, Misc.|Tags: , , , , |Comments Off on Mean It

I had one big ask when my husband and I started talking: Please don't tell me "I love you" until you're ready to propose. Those words needed to be backed up by a promise to commit. I had grown up in a home where we said "I love you" daily- when someone was leaving the house for the day, when we ended a conversation on the phone with each other, and when we were headed to bed. "Bye, love you!"   "Goodnight, love you!" We said it so much and so fast, it flowed into one word:  "B'loveyou" Once when my

The Admiral’s Lounge

By |February 28th, 2023|Categories: Misc.|Comments Off on The Admiral’s Lounge

I’m sure I looked like such a newbie, but I couldn’t help myself. We were on our way to California to visit my husband’s sister. We arrived at the airport early, passed through security, and still had a good two hours till our early morning flight. “Do you want to wait in the Admirals lounge?” My husband asked me. “Sure, will there be food?” My husband laughed. “Yeah, there should be.” When I walked into the Admirals lounge, my jaw dropped in amazement. I couldn’t help myself. I had just entered a whole new world.  Everyone in the room was

Reread His Text

By |February 23rd, 2023|Categories: Devotionals|Tags: , , , , , , |Comments Off on Reread His Text

There are a couple of texting features that I use A LOT on my phone:  Voice texting - who really wants to type all those words anyway?  Editing - because sometimes Siri doesn’t understand me. Even when I am going old school and using my fingers to send a text, I still manage to mess up. There are times that I can’t even blame autocorrect. It’s just user error all the way. In a couple of text threads recently, I left out key words that literally changed everything about the statement. The latest blunder involved a text about an upcoming

Badge Access

By |February 10th, 2023|Categories: Misc.|Tags: , , , |Comments Off on Badge Access

I work in a building that requires badge access. If I don't have my badge on me, it makes for a long day because everywhere I go, I need someone to help me get in. Fortunately, the little pocket in my purse ensures I keep it secure, and it's on me by the time I get out of my car. So far, I've been good! Why do they need that type of security, anyway? Why can't anyone just walk in? Well, the company has decided that an employee must meet certain criteria to be able to enter. I remember my

Fruitful in the Wilderness

By |February 6th, 2023|Categories: Devotionals|Tags: , , , , , , , , |Comments Off on Fruitful in the Wilderness

After experiencing 2020 & 2021, I had high hopes for 2022.  Surely, it could only get better, right?  It actually started out pretty good. My mask was getting a little dusty on the bottom of my purse from lack of usage. I completed a training program at a local church. After dealing with some health challenges, my family was overall doing well.  My ministry projects were thriving, too. Whispers & Fringes had a weekly virtual Bible study with women from all over who were faithful to attend and engage. I was writing devotionals and teaching God’s word. I even started
