The waiting can be hard and sometimes we don’t understand why we go through the pain of waiting.
I waited and waited and searched and met and talked and hoped…but I just couldn’t find the right person to share my life with. I thought to myself how easy some women seemed to find their spouses, and why for me it was such a struggle.
Then, I prayed and prayed and cried to God, and he heard me. I was at a prayer meeting one night and decided that I would focus my prayers on this special need. On my way home from that meeting, I listened to a voicemail my mom had left me. She had heard about someone she thought I should meet.
This turned out to be my future husband.
God hears us. He listens.
God was preparing me in the waiting even though I didn’t realize it…even though I didn’t want it. He knows best, and what I have learned is he wants me to trust Him in that pause that seems to never end…because honestly, that is all I can do.
We don’t know why, but God asked many people to wait, and for different reasons:
Mary and Martha waited…
May God be glorified in our lives, even in our waiting, because he is preparing our hearts for more than we could ever imagine.
“The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.” Lamentations 3:25
