This week, as I was driving to the grocery store, the national anthem began playing on the radio. As I heard it’s familiar tune, I felt my eyes sting with tears and a lump form in my throat. I don’t usually react this way. In fact, the last time I reacted like that was when I heard the national anthem play for the first time after the 9/11 attacks. Our country was broken and people were grieving.
As I watch life unfold around me, I have often prayed- God where are you? I found some comfort in the Bible that I wanted to share.
In Exodus 3, God appeared to Moses as he was doing his daily tasks- tending his father in laws flock.
God can appear and speak to you even when you are doing the most mundane task.
In verse 7, when God appears to Moses at the burning bush, He tells Moses that He has heard the cries of his people and is concerned about them
God is still concerned about His people. He is concerned about you. He is concerned about your family.
In verse 12, God said, “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.”
I always ask God for a sign BEFORE I make my move. Moses was not going to get his sign until AFTER his assignment was complete. He had to do the entire thing in faith, and God was with him through every step. Not getting my confirmation until AFTER I do something would have given me a migraine. I need to learn from Moses.
I trust that God is still concerned about His people- including you and I. I trust that God can still speak to me even when I am just living my daily life. I need to learn to trust to step out in faith on assignments and understand that my need for a sign is in God’s time.
I am praying for you- and our country!
