Dear Friend,

Has it been one of those days, weeks or months for you? Perhaps you are hurt and feeling broken. Maybe you are devastated by life-altering news. It’s hard not to feel overwhelmed, isn’t it? It’s even more challenging when you think that no one cares or understands. With darkness and despair all around you, it may just feel hopeless.

You’re not alone:

Joseph may have felt the same as you while he sat in the pit after being rejected by his brothers.
David may have felt the same as you while he hid in the cave from King Saul who wanted to kill him.
Job may have felt the same as you while he grieved the death of his children and looked at his body covered by leprosy.

What can you do?

Look up.

Psalm 121 (NIRV) states,

I look up to the mountains.
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord.
He is the Maker of heaven and earth.
He won’t let your foot slip.
He who watches over you won’t get tired.
In fact, he who watches over Israel
won’t get tired or go to sleep.
The Lord watches over you.
The Lord is like a shade tree at your right hand.
The sun won’t harm you during the day.
The moon won’t harm you during the night.
The Lord will keep you from every kind of harm.
He will watch over your life.
The Lord will watch over your life no matter where you go,
    both now and forever.

I pray that this Scripture and the lyrics of “Look Up Child” lighten your heaviness today. God is with you and He will help you.
