We are hosting a couple of Christmas brunches this year and Sausage Crescent Breakfast Casserole will be on the menu for sure!
My friend Sweena introduced me to this years ago and I have made it countless times since. The best thing is that you can prepare it the day before and bake it in the morning (NO WAKING UP EARLY!)
Maybe you don’t have a holiday brunch planned but that’s okay…it’s a great breakfast recipe all year long. ~Anu
SAUSAGE CRESCENT BREAKFAST CASSEROLE
(Image & Recipe from Mix & Match Mama – www.mixandmatchmama.com)
*INGREDIENTS:
– 1 can of Crescent Rolls
– 1 pound pork sausage
– 6 eggs
– 1/2 cup milk
– good pinch of Salt & Pepper
– 1.5 cups of Cheddar cheese, shredded
*INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Spread your Crescent Roll dough across the bottom of a greased 13×9 baking dish. Set aside.
Brown your sausage in a skillet until crumbly and cooked. Place on a paper towel to drain the grease.
Meanwhile, whisk your eggs in a small bowl with milk, salt & pepper. Spread the cooked sausage over your crescent rolls in the pan. Pour the egg mixture on top of the sausage and sprinkle cheese on top of that.
At this point, you can cover and refrigerate until you’re ready to cook it the next morning or you can go ahead and pop it in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes. The edges will be brown and the center not wobbly when it’s done.
