Psalms 50:14-15 says “Sacrifice thank offerings to God, fulfill your vows to the Most High, and you will call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me”.
Scripture says that a thankful heart and words of gratitude are currency that goes much farther than any sacrifices we can offer to God.
While this year has been “unprecedented” and challenging to say the least, it has also been a year to reset and realize what is really important. As I prepare for Thanksgiving Day this year, I have been reflecting on the goodness of God in my life this year.
Here are just a few things that I am thankful for in 2020.
I am thankful that I have breath in my lungs and me and my loved ones are healthy.
I am thankful for all the extra time I have had to spend with my family this year.
I am thankful that I got to connect with family and friends far away via Zoom that I would not have done otherwise.
I am thankful that I have a job and the ability to work.
I am thankful that I have a home that carries the warmth and the presence of God.
I am thankful for my church and my Pastor.
I am thankful for ministry opportunities that came about because of the pandemic.
I am thankful to have been able to dive deeper into 5 books of the Bible through Whispers & Fringes Bible studies online.
I am thankful that my Heavenly Father cares enough about me that even the smallest details of my life matter to Him.
I am thankful that God continues to show himself faithful, even when I am not.
I am thankful that the Holy Spirit gives us resilience that allows us to adjust and adapt in the most difficult of situations and still find strength and joy in the middle of it.
I pray that as you reflect on 2020 that you would find so much to be grateful for as well.
