Lately, my prayer list has been growing exponentially. So many folks have been battling sickness and loss. Sometimes, it seems as if the circumstances are just impossible.

Throughout my life, there have been times when I faced what looked impossible. Fear would grip me. Worry would overwhelm me. And I found myself sinking into a state of despair.

But one of the things that moved me out from that position was the immediate response of believers uniting together in prayer. While I may have felt weak, strength was evident from those around me who rallied in agreement for an answer to that difficult situation. I am so grateful for Jesus’ words: “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:20 NKJV) Without a doubt, I have felt God’s presence and power in each of those situations.

Fast forward to today: as I have been taking the present prayer needs to the Lord, I remembered the mountains that God has moved from those prayers of my brothers and sisters in Christ. To God be the glory, I have loved ones who have:

-walked again after paralysis from a car accident;
-survived a fatal car accident that claimed a loved one’s life;
-been thriving after needing support for one’s heart to function at birth.

When I remember those impossible situations, I am left in awe of what God has done. Truly, God made a way where there seemed to be no way. And I believe that I will see Him do it again.

Hebrews 4:16 (NLT) reminds us, “So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive His mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.”

Dear Friend, maybe you feel weary and discouraged from hearing about a loved one battling illness or fighting for their life. Find yourself a friend who will pray with you and stand on God’s Word to walk through this time. “Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other … If one person falls, the other can reach out and help.” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NLT)

Maybe you know someone who is standing in the need of prayer. Come alongside them and pray with faith over their situation. “The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power].” (James 5:16 AMP)
