It has been one of those weeks.  Alot feels like it’s going wrong.  I’ve worried about it.  Talked about it.  Prayed about it.  And worried about it some more.

And I continue to see no tangible change in the situation.

But after sharing with my friend what’s been on my heart, she gave me some wise counsel from her own story and from the word of God. And from there, I’ve taken some steps and I have started down the path of finding a solution to the problem.  It is not resolved yet, but I believe it will be soon enough.

Are you having one of those weeks, months, or even years?  Do you feel like your only option is to think that your situation has to stay the way it is, or you just have to give up altogether?

I am here to tell you, please don’t.  While it is tempting to do so, it is not the answer.  Trials and challenges are all part of building our faith muscles.

When everything is going well, there is no need for faith.  We’ve all heard it said that faith that is seen is not faith at all.  But scripture clearly says that “….Faith is the evidence of things NOT seen” (Hebrews 11:1).

And so it is through the times of darkness, that our faith can really take root and grow.

As many of us can attest, when we try to build up our physical muscles through exercise, the results are never seen immediately…..which is why most of drop our exercise program within a week or two of starting it.

But when we consistently and diligently do a little bit everyday, we find that after a few weeks or months, our muscles look different and feel stronger than they were before.

Like physical exercise, our faith needs some consistent and diligent exercise as well.

And so, this past week, this trial reminded me that my faith muscles needed some work.

I’ve decided to not be filled with anxiety and fear, but to lean into the One who can intervene like only He can.

I prayed.  I took some tangible steps, and now I wait.  I have resolved to continue knocking until the right answer is found.

I do believe that on the other side of this trial, I will find my faith stronger and deeper than before.  I believe that I will gain experience, wisdom, and knowledge for the next trial, or for the trial of someone else that may need to hear my story.

For you today who may be struggling, hold on, do your part, and trust that God will guide you.

On the other side of this, you won’t regret that you did.
