Dallas isn’t known for its seasons (unless you count “cold” and “very hot”) but every year around this time, something really beautiful starts to happen. Trees that were barren start coming to life again.

I drove by these particular trees recently and couldn’t help but notice the contrast.

One looked like it was still winter, the other spring…and the little one hadn’t changed at all – it was still green.

While I love the colors of spring, I am learning to appreciate the evergreens too.

It certainly isn’t the first one that catches the eye. It is simply there as it always has been.

“But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.”  Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NLT)

That is my prayer for you and for me…

Blessed. Hopeful. Confident. Consistent. No matter the season.
