A blanket of snow in Texas is a rare sight, so these past few days have been filled with moments of wonder….and discouragement.

Among the thrills of soft white powder falling from our gloves and the squeals of young children came frozen pipes and electrical shortages.

Not exactly the winter wonderland we were expecting.

Yet, we keep trusting.

Believing.

Knowing.

That as we experience these chilly, dark nights, God will do exceedingly, abundantly more than we ask.

God will walk us through the dark, just as he did for Daniel among the lions in the dark den.

God has never left us in the cold. He wraps us up in His warm, loving arms as he did with the Israelites as they walked through the waters.

We are never, ever alone.

“Father, I don’t understand all that is happening around us, but fix my eyes on YOUR power and YOUR promise that you will never leave me alone. Thank you that you are my Jehovah Jireh, my provider during this time. In the name of Jesus I pray.”

May the words of this song bring you hope as you lay down tonight. We serve the God of exceedingly and abundantly.

“God of exceedingly, God of abundantly
More than we ask or think
Lord, You will never fail
Your name is powerful, Your word’s unstoppable
All things are possible in You” (Lyrics from Famous For by Tauren Wells)
