It was September 19, 2016.
I am a planner, and my plan for the day was to take our youngest son to the doctor. He had a small cyst on the back of his neck which needed to be removed (thankfully, it was nothing too serious). My husband had rescheduled his morning work meetings & I had taken the day off.
We were almost out the door, when my husband received a phone call. It was a care flight nurse. His parents were involved in a serious car accident.
At that moment, not only did our plans for the day change…our lives changed too.
I wish I could say I entered this journey filled with faith. I didn’t. (My brain is often far too practical for faith). I remember crying in my closet as I packed my bags for Oklahoma, wondering if I should include a black dress.
Oh, but God had other plans.
Through one of the greatest trials of our lives, God gave my family front row seats to witness His miraculous hand at work.
God’s plans are not our plans. His plans often include twists, turns, heartaches and delays that we would never ever plan for.
His plans are higher.
I hope you will take the time to watch the six minute video below. I pray our journey strengthens your faith and encourages your heart in whatever you are walking through today.
“Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save…” (Isaiah 59:1a)
