As I am reflecting on this Thanksgiving holiday, I decided to take a trip down memory lane to remind myself of the things I am grateful for in 2024.

As each year brings its challenges and difficulties, even in the middle of those, it is so important to find something to be grateful for.  As I went through my camera roll, I saw things I had forgotten about that were sweet moments for this year.

1 Samuel 12:24 says “But be sure to fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you.”

Gratitude shifts our perspective from the difficulties we may be going through now, to remember the faithfulness of God.  And so, I’ve made a list for each month of this year so far… to give glory to God and to encourage you that you too can always find something to be grateful for.

January – We got snow in Texas!

February – Family from out of town came to visit and we made some sweet memories while showing them some Texas hospitality!

March – My kids and I tried some new recipes and really enjoyed eating what we cooked.

April – Dallas was in the path of a total eclipse and the view of the sun eclipsed by the moon was breathtaking!  It’s hard to not believe that there is a God who masterfully designed planets and galaxies and holds them in place.  It was a sight to see!

May – My nephew and my close friends’ children graduated from Texas A&M.  I knew these kids since they were born, so to celebrate these kids was a reflection of God’s goodness and faithfulness in their lives.

June – The Dallas Mavericks got to the NBA Finals! Although they didn’t win, we were so proud of all that they accomplished this year.

July – My children and I attended PCNAK – a church conference that I attended growing up specifically for the Kerala community.  It was a sweet time reconnecting with old friends and for my children to connect with the Indian community.

August – My sweet girl turned 18!

September – Enjoyed a Friday night high school football game…which is always bigger and better in Texas!

October – I got to celebrate my two close friends turning 50 with a sweet and memorable girls trip.

November – My first two children made the decision to take water baptism in obedience to Christ in their journey of faith.

It doesn’t take much to find something to be grateful for.  In the big and the small, I hope you can find so much to be thankful for too!
