The following is an excerpt from my prayer journal written last month:
“Dear God,
I have been having stomach pain for the past 3-4 days. Everything I eat is causing me discomfort. So, I’m hungry because I am afraid to eat anything as it will lead to discomfort.
I decided to call in sick at work, which was a big decision. There were a lot of rearrangements that needed to be made at work due to my absence. I rested today, and it was good. While I was resting, around 10:15 am, my husband came to the room I was resting in and he prayed over me. He said, “…she is healed in Jesus’ name.”
Then he asked me, “Do you believe you are healed?”
I was surprised that he asked me that. It was expected that I should believe it…but did I truly believe?
About an hour later, I got out of bed. As I was walking toward the kitchen, I repeated, “I am healed…I am healed…I am healed.”
I ate noodles for lunch, and it’s been 2 hours later…with no discomfort.
I can say with confidence: Jesus healed me! I just texted my manager to let her I know that I will be back at work [tomorrow].
Thank you, Jesus, for your healing power, at work in me! I love you!”
I share this testimony not only to give praise to God, our healer, but it also was made me realize that I need to believe in my own prayers. In a story in Mark 9, a boy was possessed by a spirit that cause him to have seizures. His father came to Jesus and asked for help for healing…and help to overcome his own unbelief.
As the apostles said to the Lord in Luke 17:5, my prayer to God is, “Increase our faith!”
“Sprit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me..”
