It sounds simple enough but the consequences were detrimental.

“But Amnon had a friend…” 2 Samuel‬ ‭13:3‬

‭This friend, Jonadab, was described as a “crafty” man. This isn’t Pinterest crafty. It was more like “cunning” or “shrewd” according to other translations.

Jonadab offered Amnon some absolutely horrible advice. Unfortunately, Amnon listened, and followed through with it. From there, King David’s family was torn apart.

All because Amnon had a friend.

Who are your friends?

Who are the people who speak into your life?

Who do you go to for advice?

Who will speak the truth to you in love?

Who will guide you according to the Word of God and not their own opinion?

Thankfully, I have some good friends like that. I hope you do too.
