The Aisle
This is me, walking down the aisle toward something that was uncertain. I mean, I had never been married before. In fact, I had just really gotten to know the man at the end of the aisle for less than a year. And I was about to make a life-long commitment. It felt a little surreal. But, along the way, there were so many peaceful confirmations from God that I was doing the right thing. On our very first date, he took me out for dessert to a quaint little gallery after dinner to choose anything I wanted. My eyes
My Testimony
Do you need a little boost to get you through your week? This song has been playing in our home for the past week and it immediately picks me up. There are so many truths packed into this song. Turn it up in your house and get your family to dance with you as you declare the truth of God over your life and your family! ~ Vijoy https://youtu.be/7NyH9mDYECk My Testimony (By Elevation Worship) I saw Satan fall like lightning I saw darkness run for cover But the miracle that I just can't get over My name
Jesus Love Me Anyway
How has the past month been for you? *If you’ve read 10 books or finally caught up on “This Is Us”, Jesus loves you. ??♀️ *If your kids have made straight A’s while you homeschooled or made a mess in your house, Jesus loves you. ??♀️ *If you have cooked 5-course dinners or made macaroni & cheese (from a box), Jesus loves you. ??♀️ We’re all doing the best we can...and even when we think our best isn’t good enough, Jesus still loves you & me. ? ~Anu https://youtu.be/3V7lt04lMrI
Song Bird
There is a bird that lives in the trees behind my house. It's not my bird; it doesn't even live in my yard. But I know it's there. Every morning, from March until November, at the first glimmer of dawn, this bird starts to sing. It starts off with a few notes and within an hour, it has a full on revival happening outside of my window. It sounds very poetic--right?- to say that I awaken to the sounds of birds chirping. It is seriously annoying. You can judge me, it's okay. Yes, I am that person. I am not
Sabbath
Social Distancing. Quarantine. Shelter in Place. Words indelibly etched in our minds….during a season we will never forget. Never in our lifetime have we experienced such an upheaval. Not just in our nation, but in the entire world. Everything has changed. And most likely, nothing will ever be the same. I hear pastors and preachers saying that while God did not cause this, He is definitely using this to get our attention. He is speaking. So I’ve been asking myself, what is God saying to me? Slow down. Spend more time with Him. Make time for the things that
There is Hope…
I stood in front of my computer at work and thanked God for what I saw. Who would have thought the sight of a few packs of toilet paper on aisle 10 would make my heart so happy? Like many of you, I have a new perspective on so many things now...including God’s provision throughout Scripture. For example, Noah and his family had no other choice but to ’shelter in place’ for over 150 days in an ark. Thank God for the foresight He gave Noah to build an ark to take shelter in. As for the children of Israel,

What I Know in this Storm
A few nights ago, I had a dream. In my dream, I was alone, trying to find my way home in a very bad storm. I knew that my journey home was going to be a long one- I was going from Galveston (a beach town on the coast of Texas) back home to Plano (a suburb just north of Dallas) It would have taken at least 5 hours by car, but I didn't have a car. I was walking home. I had no money, no map, no phone, and no way of knowing which way I needed to go
Strange Times…
I have worked at a grocery store for twenty five years...and just when I thought I had seen it all- last week happened! It was like a scene from a movie, a social experiment and a crazy dream- all in one. Chances are, you saw it too. Empty meat, milk and toilet paper aisles. Even our Ramen Noodle shelf was bare. I kept thinking I would wake up at any moment and tell my family and friends all about this bizarre dream I just had. Strange times, I tell you. Speaking of strange times, there is a story found in
Making the Most Out of This Season
I have been encouraged by many of the posts I’ve been seeing on social media...and like many of you, my family is also trying to make the most out of this somewhat forced Sabbatical season we are in. Earlier this week I cleaned out my fridge and made an apple cobbler with a few apples that were about to go bad...Something I normally wouldn’t have taken the time to do...but was glad I did. ? My husband and boys have been brushing up on their pool skills?, one son is working on co-writing his second rap while the other is spending a
