When I am about to embark on something new or momentous, I set out with great anticipation and excitement. Yet, I have found myself feeling like it has just been a fight to the finish line. This summer, my family and I were able to enjoy a beautiful vacation. We were filled with excitement. The […]
I credit my mom for teaching me a few raw and real-life lessons about the mind of a man. Mom is a godly woman who raised us using biblical principles. She is no-nonsense and tells it like it is. There’s no wondering what she means. Early on, I learned the importance of how to talk, […]
I am not good enough. For most of my life, those are the five words I have repeatedly said. I believed this to be true because I told myself: I’m just a girl. I’m not that smart. Isn’t it amazing the lies one can believe based on circumstances? When Moses spoke, he had a speech […]
Help Wanted. I saw one of those signs a few days ago. In fact, during the summer months, they are everywhere. Stores are packed to the brim with tourists and young children, and managers need a few extra hands to help make the sales happen. College students, looking for a way to make extra money […]
When I was single, I spent time imagining what marriage would be like. Between owning a home and starting a family, I was excited by the very idea because it seemed easy and dreamy in my mind. What can I say? I was young and naive lol. Then, I said “I do” and discovered there […]

Fun fact about me: I drive a mini-van. If it were up to my husband, I’d be driving an SUV. But I just love the ease and space that comes with a mini-van. What I have found interesting though is how the vehicles in my vicinity react when they see my mode of transportation on […]
Can I be real with you? Today has not gone as planned … at all. We had a delayed start in our day and missed our morning devotion together. Then, we received news we didn’t care to hear. There were sour faces, foul attitudes, and hard conversations to navigate through … all before noon! Honestly, […]
Even with all that’s going on in the world, I think we can all agree on the fact that life doesn’t stop for anyone. Unfortunately, people continue to struggle with feeling ill with varying health issues, to receive difficult diagnoses and prognoses, to need chemotherapy or radiation, and the list goes on. I’m no exception […]

When my kids were younger, leaving the house took the coordination of a well timed symphony. Everyone had to be rested, fed, toileted, diapered, or entertained. I often brought books with me and used to
